It’s tutorial Tuesday! (Should this be like a weekly thing now?) Anyways I love making my own bows they’re super easy and it takes about ten minutes.
So here’s what you will need: Fabric of your choice ( I got this super cute leopard and rose print fabric at Walmart for $2!) , needle and thread, a hot glue gun and of course scissors.
So what you’ll need to do first is cut the fabric into a rectangle ,for a medium size bow measure 10 inches in length and 4 inches width(or just eyeball it). Make sure to cut a sliver of fabric for the middle of the bow.
Next, fold the fabric hotdog style (haven’t heard that in yearsss)
Then fold it again in half and make the ends meet exactly in the middle.
Now it’s time to bust out that needle and thread and do a running stitch (p.s. the smaller you make your stitches the more folds your bow will have).
Now here is a tip that I learned that will make your life sooo much easier. Take the remaining thread and wrap it around the middle several times and double knot it.
Now it’s time to take that scrap of fabric and fold it in half. It really helps if you iron it but I just used my hair straightener. (Ain’t nobody got time for irons!)
Alright now wrap it around the middle of the bow and sew it! (If sewing ain’t your thing you can just hot glue it!)
All you gotta do now is put your preferred type of clip on the back I’m using a barrette ( you can get a big box of em at Sally’s beauty supply). And now you’re done! Seriously takes only about 10 mintues!
