Fourth of July is my favorite holiday🇱🇷👌😍😊 (next to Christmas of course!)

I just love all the fireworks, festivals and food😉

I rarely shop for a new outfit on the Fourth of July because more than half of my wardrobe already is red, white and blue or nautical!

So let me challenge you today to shop your own closet and create your own unique #ootd👌 By mixing and matching pieces you already own!

For a little outfit inspo here is what I came up with using items that were already in my closet!

4 Tips on Dressing Modestly & Glamorously! Modest Prom & Formal Dress Hack!

Am I the only one who gets frustrated when I am shopping around for a formal dress and  everything in the store is either too tight, too low-cut, too short, sleeveless, or has the most obnoxious slit toward the thigh? (seriously who wants to see that?!)

Well let me tell you this girl refuses to settle for a less than spectacular formal dress! I think every girl deserves a dress that meets her modest standards while feeling absolutely confident and glamorous while wearing it! So, without further ado,

Here are my 4 Tips on Dressing Modestly and Glamorously!

4-tips-on-dressing-modestly-and-glamorously

Tip #1: Pick a Bold, Rich Color!

Rich colors such as royal blue, purple, rich red, etc. communicates elegance, wealth, sophistication, and intelligence. Even if the dress is of a simple structure, the color choice alone can make it look posh and refined without all the “bling”.

This is a great tip if “bling isn’t your thing”.

However, if you’re like me and love sparkles, glitter, and bling, a sequined or beaded top with a simpler bottom will have the sparkle we desire without being too overbearing!

img_9759img_9757img_9755img_9754

Tip #2: Life is Easier with Sleeves

Come on, admit it if at some point in your life you have purchased a dress with a “modesty issue” thinking you would fix it and then totally giving up on it! (Don’t worry I’ve totally been there too!)

Here’s a tip, just buy the dress that has sleeves, or is longer, or isn’t as tight.

Avoid the woe and the worry to try and find a jacket that will cover up and match the dress. Most of the time finding a bolero jacket that will match the style of dress is very difficult to find and we all know that wearing a matching colored t-shirt underneath is a no-go either!

So save yourself some heartbreak and buy the dress with sleeves!

Tip #3: Own your Outfit with Accessories

As Michael Kors said,

I’ve always thought of accessories as the exclamation point of a woman’s outfit.

The right accessories can make a dress off the catalog look unique and one in a million!

The accessories I chose today was a classic understated yet elegant Classic Black Sheffield 35mm Rose Gold Daniel Wellington watch and rose gold cuff!

This watch is the epitome of sheer elegance! I love that it can look good with a casual outfit as well as a glamorous one! Every girl needs a classic watch for her wardrobe!

Daniel Wellington is offering you ladies 15% OFF this watch by using the code “MODESTLYHOT” at checkout!  Let me know what watch is on your wishlist from their collection!

I also chose a classic fur shawl to give this looks a vintage Hollywood vibe.

Tip #4: RDD

Rent a Designer Dress

Here’s a little hack for all you girls that have a prom, banquet or sweethearts dance coming up….

PSSSSTT… Rent a Dress!

and better yet rent a designer dress! Why Designer?

Here’s the thing, designer dresses are more expensive.

“No duh we knew that!” is probably what you’re thinking.

But hear me out, most designer dresses are more expensive because they have more quality fabric, more fabric equals more coverage.

This Sherri Hill dress has more coverage than your average formal dress, which features cap sleeves, more layers to the bottom chiffon skirt, and even a covering slip underneath!

Originally this dress costs a whooping $400, kinda pricey especially if you are only wearing it once! Luckily for me, I found the Bling it On Dress Rentals! They have the BEST selection for your next formal event and I was shocked to find a substantial amount of modest formal gowns! Overall a great experience!

Lastly, here is a freebie tip just for you guys 😉

TIP #5: You’re never fully dressed without a SMILE!

So go ahead and use those 26 muscles to smile and feel confident in whatever you chose to wear! At the end of the day it’s just clothes and what really makes us shine and stand out is not the dress, hair style , or makeup  but the person wearing it!

Hope you enjoyed these tips and make sure to save them on your Pinterest boards!!

Until next time,

Cobalt & Damask Print Midi Skirts! Featuring Modestly Dressed Boutique

Happy Sunday fellow skirt sisters!

I feel the need to update you on so much that has been going on this past week!

We had a blast going to Zion National Park to go hike the infamous “Narrows”!

Hiking and shopping are my two all-time favorite past times!

Look at how stunning God’s creation is!! It is pretty neat to get out of the city and just take in fresh air, stunning views, and a rest for a few days.

Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

Job 37:14

img_3510

Today’s church outfit consists of a classy damask/paisley print paired up with touches of cobalt blue!

img_3595

The skirt I am loving is from a custom designed modest clothing boutique “Modestly Dressed Boutique!”

She literally made this gorgeous skirt by hand AND it has POCKETS!

(Can we all agree that all skirts should come with pockets?!)

What skirts with pockets mean to me:

  1. A place to put my awkward hands!
  2. I can carry a lippie with me to retouch at any given moment
  3. The quality of a skirt immediately goes up with the simple integration of pockets!

img_3610

The ”Melissa Pleated Midi Skirt” has a thick waistband to create an illusion of a smaller waist, and the large box pleats make it that much more classier!

ModestlyHot PRO tip: Invest in a good quality black and white printed skirt because the outfit possibilities are endless! It will match with a variety of colors, prints and patterns! Black and white is a must, perfect for all seasons and is absolutely timeless.

I adore this Rue 21 Sparkle Bib Necklace! It transforms any outfit from simple to stunning by just wearing it over anything! The bigger the statement necklace, the better!

I just wanted to take some time and thank you all for being so supportive during these past few weeks and actually during these past 2 years! You all are so sweet and encouraging me whether it’s on IG, Snapchat or email! You literally have the best timing! #ModestlyHotfamily Hooray for 27k Followers!

Have a blessed Sunday!

God Bless,

Watercolor Floral Friday & GIVEAWAY!! Featuring Sierra Brooke Clothing!

Happy Friday Ladies!!

Can you believe June is fast approaching next week?! I certainly cannot!

If you follow me on my Instagram  @ModestlyHot you already know that many exciting changes are taking place regarding my logo, website, and business cards!

I am beyond THRILLED with the outcome! The logo is so me! Gold, Glitter, and a soft, blush pink for a more sleek and modern logo for the website ! {COMING SOON!}

Believe it or not, it was my dad’s idea to have my business cards printed in gold foiling! He is a strong believer in that a business card should be a quality card that someone actually wants to keep. I couldn’t agree more! Thank you all for the wonderful feedback received on these changes, and I hope to serve you ladies better with the new website I am working on.

So since it is Friday, and it’s a beautiful day out, I think floral would be just fitting for a day like today! Today, I will be reviewing the awesome modest clothing company Sierra Brooke ! I am sure you ladies have heard of them before as they were one of the first modest shops I have encountered. Don’t you just love shopping at websites that you need not to worry about hemlines being too short, clothing being too tight etc? I certainly do!

CAUTION: THE FOLLOWING OUTFIT IS BRIGHT  lol

img_3015

Oh yes! When it comes to color I tend not to hold anything back really. Summer is just around the corner, and I think we can all agree that summer is awesome, bright, and cheerful, so why can’t our outfits reflect that too? LOL #bloggerlogic

img_3001img_3004

img_2984img_2986

Watercolor print has been all the rage this year, whether it would be on notebooks, planners, clothing, or cute quotes, its no wonder I want everything watercolor! (I ultimately blame Kate Spade though 😉

The skirt I am wearing is in a size small and it features a stretchy waistband (love that!)

The print is an array of gorgeous, ultra bright colors that scream spring and summer season!

img_2996img_2998

On a side note: How fun are these Rue 21 Neon yellow studded heels? I purchased them last summer, and am still loving how bold and bright they are, yet they still embody classiness with the style of the shoe.

img_3007

Now let’s talk about accessories! A classy yellow 7 flower statement necklace was added for even more floral, feminine detailing, and a pop of color against my hot pink blouse.

img_2999

Fun Fact: This rosette statement necklace is where my collecting of statement necklaces all began! I believe it was 3 years ago, when J.Crew came out with these stunning necklaces that every blogger/Instagrammer had to have! Well, a quick search on Poshmark scored me my very first rosette statement necklace, and the obsession grew to acquire just about every single color to my collection!

P.S. A hair tutorial on this “Princess Half-Half Down” hair-do will be up next week, so keep an eye out for that! Thank you to all who requested it, seeing as it is my favorite go-to hairstyle that goes with every outfit!

img_2982

Since it’s Friday, and I love this skirt so much I was talking to Sierra Brooke and they thought it would be a great idea to share the love with you guys, and give you a chance to win this fabulous modest midi skirt!
Can I just say, Thank you to all the generous companies who are willing to give ModestlyHot followers a chance to win all these fabulous prizes!

How to Style a Tulle Skirt: Plaid & Tulle! Featuring Taralynns Boutique🍁🍃🍂✨🍂🍃🍁✨🍂🍃🍁✨🍂🍃🍁

Hello and Happy Sunday!!🎉🎉 I hope you all had a wonderful church service! Sunday mornings are always the best because I get to squeeze in a little bit more sleep! And by sleeping in I mean like sleeping in til 6:00am LOL

So today’s outfit was actually planned yesterday afternoon when I received this adorable package in my mailbox from Taralynn’s Boutique ! (SO EXCITING!😍😍😍😍) I opened up the package (like a gorilla btw😁) and saw the most amazing white tulle skirt ever!!

It’s like a white fluffy cloud of cuteness!!😍☁️ (according to my roommate it looks like a fluffy white cloud lol!☁️)

I gasped out loud and headed toward my dresser to pair up my new skirt with a plaid shirt!

You guys for ages I have been wanting to recreate this outfit on Pinterest! !It’s actually a fall themed wedding but could be worn for a cute contrasting fall outfit using a tulle skirt!

Fall was clearly on my mind and I decided  on wearing golds, coppers and burnt reds for today’s makeup!

I adore this lip color from Wet N wild which is actually an exact dupe for MAC’s Rebel lipstick! The only difference is the price💸 One is $2 and the other is $14! I bet you can guess which one I like more now 😉

For my hair I only spent a max of 10 minutes on it! I just teased the crown of my hair and added one of those hair pieces that look like a scrunchy to add more volume to my low side bun! Hello 90’s trend!)

I love plaid and tulle together because it dresses down the tulle skirt but looks so chic!
Of course you can’t have plaid without pearls!! 🙌🏻

I adore this white tulle skirt! This outfit would be great for Christmas!! I love the fact that this skirt is so stretchy in the waistline so it allows me to eat as much as I want without feeling like I’m going to explode!

LOL

I’ve had many tulle skirts over the past year but this one is probably the better structured one for sure! It keeps its shape all day long and I don’t feel the need to wear an extra tulle skirt underneath for volume!

I could see from the package that the skirt was so fluffy and full of life! Perfect for twirling 😉 (admit it you do it too !)

Well that’s all for today’s post!

Gotta head on out and take care of the 3 year olds! Wish me luck! 😉😊

God Bless,

Xoxo

🍂🍁🌻Fall Florals!🌻🍁🍂 Styling a Fringe Skirt!

Hello and Happy Wednesday !!

Well long time no post!! I’ve definitely missed you all!

For those of you who don’t know I barely got settled into my new “home” here at West Coast Baptist College!

I am so excited and exhausted but it’s been such an awesome experience thus far!

Don’t get me wrong I do miss the gorgeous mountains of Utah but the sunsets are are pretty amazing too!

So for today’s outfit is totally about transitioning summer trends into the fall season!

It’s completely not fall yet but I wanted a little essence of summer in my outfit and this floral shirt from Poshmark fit in perfectly!

I dunno about you but this skirt is a must have for fall!! It’s fringe and the color is screaming to be worn all month long! (It’s been on major repeat!😉)

Floral and fringe is definitely a fall favorite right now! 🍂🌻🍁 it’s an easy way to transition from summer to fall!

Cognac is becoming one of my favorite colors of all time! It falls into the category of navy I believe!

It’s so rustic yet chic!

I’ve been wearing these Cognac wedges from Justfab for the past outfits because

(A) They’re comfy

(B) They’re comfy

And (c) they’re comfy 😉

The movement of this skirt is so awesome and makes wearing it fun to twirl  around in lol!

It was only $17 from She Inside! Plus if you could get a 30% OFF online code that would make this deal even sweeter!
Well that wraps up today’s post and now I got to get ready from Wednesday Night service!

I’ll try to squeeze in as many blog posts as I can, but If you don’t hear from me just know that it’s probably because I’m somewhere in the library pulling out my hair writing an essay ! lol!

God Bless !!

I knew this skirt reminded me of something but I couldn’t exactly pinpoint it.

You guys I have seen quite a few floral skirts but none like this one!
The skirt is actually made out of a mesh so it’s not only airy and so SO comfy but it keeps it’s a-line shape!
(No need for a petticoat! )

IMG_4157.JPG
Now for my shirt it’s actually a Kate Spade blouse from the closet of Megan also known as Darling on a Dollar! I scored great buys from the Blogger Yard Sale we had over the weekend!
I mean Kate Spade for $15?!! Yes please! (Compare at $300?😳 #yeahsavings!)
