Happy Holidays Featuring NEW PhotoScan App By Google Photos! ModestlyHot Throwback Photos!

Happy Holidays Guys!!

There are two kinds of people in this world:

  1. Those who listen to Christmas music right at the beginning of October (or sooner lol)
  2. And those who just HAVE to wait until after Thanksgiving

……Aaand then theres me who refuses to comply with the norm and listens to Christmas music year round #sorrynotsorry

Needless to say, Thanksgiving break was a much needed time of rest. Even though I was not able to spend Thanksgiving with my family this year; I was grateful to spend Thanksgiving in a church member’s home and had a blast! (Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Hernandez!)

I was still missing my family over the break, but looking at our old photos of past holidays (and a lot of phone calls) really helped me stay connected with them over the holiday break.

Now if you are anything like my family; you probably have that infamous box of old photo prints stashed in a box somewhere in the creepy attic/basement that no one dares to go in because of the hassle. (or in my case the fear of the creepy, icky spiders one might find up there!)  😦

Regardless, it is a sad thing that we do not look at these *priceless gems* more often mainly because all the photographs we have are saved instantly on our mobile devices.

img_7553

Well that is no longer the case because Google Photos has created a tool, a brand-new app called PhotoScan which allows us to bring these forgotten pictures back to life in very high quality, no glare photographs! Mind you, it is not just a”picture of a picture” cause we are all guilty of doing that, but instead it uses your cell-phone’s built in technology as an image scanner.

img_7556

All you do is simply touch the four corners of the photograph print you want to save and within seconds you have your timeless photo saved as a digital, high resolution image on your phone FOREVER!

img_7554

The possibilities are endless!

Bad hair day pictures?

Chubby baby pictures?

“Seeing what your parents really looked like before they had you” pictures?

And of course the classic “what was I thinking?!” pictures! (Now those are fun! 😉

Imagine having all those memories readily available on your phone to share with the world because why not?! Everyone needs a laugh or two at some good ol’ throwback pics 😉

So with the help of Google Photo Scan here are my throwback holiday pics that I’m probably going to regret posting but YOLO er something like that 😛

E N J O Y !

LIFE UPDATE: Where have I been?!?! & Modest Fall Lace Dress featuring DownEast Basics 25 Year Anniversary!

Hello?

Is anyone out there?

What can I say? It has been awhile and you guys have just been so awesome and understanding through my college transition yet again!

The good thing is that I am finally all settled in and midterm examinations are over! (Can I get an amen to that?!)

amberr-77amberr-78

Exciting NEWS!! I have been a huge fan of DownEast Basics for years and they recently contacted me to help them celebrate their 25 year anniversary! #25yearsofdowneast

amberr-2

Processed with Snapseed.

DownEast holds a special place in my heart because they took a chance on me when I first started blogging and gave me that extra boost of encouragement that every blogger needs when they first start out. I am thrilled to see how God has blessed their company and how far they have come!

Reason #2 why I love DownEast is because they started from humble beginnings in my home state, Utah!

P.S. Every skirt girl needs to make a trip down to Utah “aka” modest shopping heaven! 14680509_10154567289693838_6897378747497153496_n.jpg

Their new fall collection has been released and I immediately knew that I wanted this “country chic” cream lace dress! Perfect for fall, spring, summer and even winter!

amberr-55amberr-54

I absolutely love the fit on this dress, the perfect fit and flare! It is very difficult to find fit and flare dresses that actually are long enough (40″length size small)!

amberr-5amberr-14

Since fall is my utmost favoritest (yes I realize that is not proper English grammar 😉 ), season of all, I had to do a fall themed carnival photoshoot.

It was quite comical pretending to shoot fall outfits when the temperatures were in the 70’s! #californiaweather

amberr-1amberr-23amberr-25

amberr-22

Accessories can instantly transition any outfit from season to season, so for that reason I chose my horse bit buckle belt, cognac riding boots, and a vintage inspired bucket style bag!

amberr-11amberr-15

That lace detailing though!!

Most bloggers hold extravagant floral arrangements, I as a broke college student hold a baby tumbleweed I found on the side of the road 😉 amberr-85amberr-86

Despite the lack of the color green out here, the desert does have a beauty of its own especially those amazing sunsets and sunrises!

amberr-65amberr-66

Oh! Before I forget in celebration for their 25 year anniversary  DownEast is having a HUGE Anniversary SALE on different items every single day! DON’T MISS OUT! They are already pretty affordable and add a nice 25% OFF on top of that?! Yes please!

As always all the outfit details and links about this blog post will be neatly listed below for your convenience 😀

Disney Fashion Series! Featuring Mickey Mouse Inspired Fashion!!

Hello and Happy Friday!!

Oh my word I am SOOOO excited for this series!! I mean Disney and Fashion are just meant to be together!! This week’s Disney Inspired Outfit was totally based on Mickey Mouse!!

IMG_2336

I looked at my closet and knew I already had all the items for a Mickey Mouse Look!

IMG_2335

As usual I laid out my outfits whether on computer or on my floor!

Pretty easy peasy!

Mickey’s color scheme is very simple; Black, white, red and yellow! With a few key color pieces I knew I could channel Mickey!

IMG_2326

IMG_2330

I wore my sheer black polka dot shirt from H&M to tie in the polkadots on my skirt! I love the sweetheart neckline it has!

IMG_2333

For my skirt i wore a black on white polkadot skirt that I got from TaraLynn’s boutique!

The material is very thick & sturdy! This skirt could be worn with so many different tops to change the look!

IMG_2327

IMG_2331

For le hair I decided on putting it up into a sock bun! I have been sporting this hair do for weeks now mainly due to the lack of time but I always get compliments on it! (I’m pretty obsessed with it!) *Pro Tip:* Only do a sock bun when you have second day hair! I had the hardest time keeping my hair up in that perfect bun when my hair was freshly washed because it would slip out of the donut!

IMG_2323

IMG_2334

IMG_2339

Well that wraps up today’s post! I hope you all try this fun look out!! Its was so easy and you probably have the items already in your closet!!

Til Next Time!

XOXO,

Ashley

Modest in Red, White & Blue! Memorial Day Outfit Ideas!

Hey you guys!! Happy Friday!! It’s been crazy how fast this week has gone by!

To say that I am ready for the weekend is an understatement! (Shopping, food and fun? Yes Please!)

Memorial Day is right around the corner and I thought to myself ,”hmm I have dozens of outfit ideas on that!”

I personally love anything that is red, white and blue, anchors, stars and stripes! It all excites me!!

IMG_2151                           So for today’s outfit I have the morning off so I am going to swing by the store and pick up an order I made by phone.(Cant wait to show you all what the mystery item is!!)

I recently shopped at Rue21 and picked up some clearance goodies since they were having the entire store on sale!  plus buy one get one 50%OFF !

So…… I bought this top!

IMG_2147

I know I know… You’d think I would have enough anchor print tops already right?!

TOTALLY WRONG!

You can never have too many cute anchor shirts!!

As soon as i saw it I knew it had to be mine + I got it half off!

You can’t tell in the pic but the sleeves are actually cuffed! So J. Crew!

Now, I loved how the first outfit looked but last year I did a pretty similar look with the same skirt but with a different anchor top which was also coincidentally from Rue 21!

IMG_2135

#tbt

So I wanted to jazz it up a bit and I knew exactly what I was going to pair it up with!

I actually had to dig this striped H&M blazer from my hamper which is pretty intimidating because it was stuffed full!

IMG_2141

I love how this outfit screams nautical! Oh and here’s a quick little tip for easy pattern mixing!

Always match colors not patterns! In this outfit the striped blazer works with the anchor print top because they’re both navy and white. And the pop of yellow works because yellow and navy are opposites on the color wheel.

IMG_2149

Since there was alot of pattern mixing and colors already I opted for my nude Christian Louboutin heels!

Not the comfiest pair of heels but definitely the most stylish! (That pop of red gets me every time!)

IMG_2144

IMG_2143

IMG_2146

I already want to wear this shirt again!!

Well that’s all for now and I have included some outfit ideas for Memorial Day Weekend and 4th of July!

Hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!

Love ya!

XOXO,

Ashley

Coral, Turquoise & Leopard!

Hello there!

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Boy what a rainy week its been! Hopefully these May showers will bring summer already!

IMG_1856

Now I absolutely love the rain and even thunderstorms (the noise of thunderstorms relaxes me) but I am kinda bummed out this week because I had plans for a super fun photo shoot but due to the weather it has been delayed!

So I guess I’ll have to do a casual outfit post today!

Now let’s talk about something that every girl should have in her wardrobe!

LEOPARD PRINT!

IMG_1864

I am a huge believer that leopard is a neutral! I mean the options are endless!

I wanted to make a ”Modest In Leopard Look Book” to show different ways to style a classic leopard print!

IMG_1866-0

For today’s outfit I wanted to keep it simple but still have vibrant spring colors! (Even though its pouring out!)

So I decided on wearing my leopard peplum top I purchased from Poshmark! Out of all the clothes I own, this top is still being worn over and over again! I try not to repeat outfits but this top is just too cute!

IMG_1862

Since we can all agree that leopard is a neutral I decided to wear a coral pencil skirt and a pop of turquoise on my shoes and necklace!

IMG_1860

I can remember seeing this color combo on Pinterest and having an ”A-HA” moment!!

IMG_1863

My skirt was a thrift score find! It was brand new with tags and everything!

I love pencil skirts! They are casual enough to wear everyday but can easily be dressed up with a few accessories!

IMG_1861

IMG_1879-0

Now this wouldn’t be a look book without a couple more outfits right!?

Here’s a roundup of all my modest in leopard looks!

I hope you all enjoy!!

God Bless You!

Leopard Peplum Top : Poshmark

Coral Pencil Skirt: Thrifted but originally from Target

Turquoise Bubble Necklace: Utah Fashion Show
