Fun Fact #1: Why yes I did indeed climb these rocks with 5 inch heels 😉 Had my friend (photographer) Mildred scared to death!

Disclaimer: Pretty please do not try this at home! It was not a safe place to be hiking with heels, but a blogger has to get her Pocahontas shots!

Here’s what you will need:

  1. Brown Fringe Skirt

I finally found the PERFECT and MODEST fringe skirt on Poshmark!! No slip needed!

Usually with a fringe skirt the fringe would not be full enough to be modest, however this one not only was a lined skirt, but the fringe was full of beautiful movement!

Oh did I mention that it was only $9?!

img_3426 (1)

Now that’s what I call a fringe skirt! Cannot believe this was a skirt originally from Forever 21! All you Poshmarkers go ahead and follow J’s Closet on Poshmark! Incredibly fast shipping and beautiful clothes! img_3425 (1)

FUN FACT #5: Amanda from Aesthically You is the best at Eyelash Extensions in Utah!

I am not just saying that! She truly is very gentle yet effective at her job! My eyelashes can look good as soon as I wake up! What I liked the most about them was the amount of curl they had and they were not heavy at all!

Modest Gold Sequin Maxi Skirt Featuring Headbands of Hope!

Happy Sunday Everyone!!

Today’s outfit is all about Fashion with a Purpose!

img_4996

Headbands of Hope and I have teamed up to not only promote these super cute handmade headbands, but also with every headband that is purchased, one is given to a child with cancer! How awesome is that?!

img_3670

img_4987

Around the same time Headbands of hope contacted me, a local Salt Lake City volunteer group invited me to attend and participate in a bike parade and 5k for a sweet little girl named Ruby, who was born with a large mass on the back of her head that resembled a tumor.

During a routine MRI scan this spring, a technician inadvertently captured the top of Ruby’s lungs in the image. A CT scan soon followed and it was discovered that Ruby’s lungs were full of tumors. She was given the diagnosis of Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma.

After hearing what Ruby and her family were going through, the community decided to round all their resources together to organize a bike parade and 5K run to raise proceeds for the Thackeray family.

The turn out was unbelievable! Many well known Utah shops donated 5 table full of merchandise and gift baskets ready for the Silent Auction!

There were so many good things to bid on! ( a dozen full of tamales were among the items lol)

img_3686img_3697img_3699img_3701

Being a kids bike parade I dressed up as Snow White! ( because what little girl doesn’t like Disney?!)

img_4993img_4994img_4995img_4986

For the Headbands of Hope photoshoot I decided on wearing this gorgeous gold plate headdress that has a diamond chain draped on the outside! A floor length sequin maxi skirt with my “Walking with Purpose” tee seemed to match the mission of Headbands of Hope perfectly!

I would totally check out their website and pick out headband and become a headband hero to a little girl battling cancer! It’s amazing to see what an impact a small decorative headband can have on a girl’s self esteem! >>>>Check out the Giving Gallery HERE!<<<

And onto today’s blog post which coincidentally is also pink!

Oh my! Pink, floral, modest and oh so comfortable? This dress is all of the above and so easy to move in!  This gorgeous dress is from  Winsome Sash Boutique, a clothing boutique that delivers a fusion of polished sophistication and elegance combined with classic modesty.

img_0914

img_0911

I adore the color scheme of this dress, the pink, brown and mauve color palette is so perfect for spring and summer.

Now, let’s talk about the length of this maxi dress, I am a shortie (5’3 to be exact) and this dress is very long, longer than most maxi dresses so I would definitely recommend wearing some tall heels with this dress!

img_0918

img_0915-1

Surprisingly, I did not feel the need to wear anymore accessories beside my go-to cognac wavy band belt!

P.S. Check out how long my nails grew! A blog post on what has been working to grow out my nails is coming soon!

img_0925

img_0913img_0921

You would think that this long sleeved dress would be too hot to wear in the heat of the day, but actually I noticed that because of the lightweight material it is made out of it’s actually quite a breathable dress!

Modestlyhot Logo

I am so grateful for this past week that we were able to reach 28K followers! And it is honestly crazy to think that this journey started with a 17 year old girl who was so camera shy, and  hid when people busted out a camera. lol! It’s been a great journey full of learning and interacting with you girls who know the struggle of choosing to live a life that is pleasing to God even when the world is constantly opposing it. I have found so much encouragement and joy by your sweet comments, emails and collaborations! THANK YOU! Continue to grow in Christ and never be ashamed of promoting modesty, this world truly needs your “salted light”!

Matthew 5:13-16(KJV)

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

God Bless,

Ashley Amber

How to Style a Skirt Extender: Navy & Floral Summer Dress Featuring I Shop Simply + GIVEAWAY!

Too short?  Too tight?  Too sheer?

Trust me ladies, being a modest girl in this era is difficult with all the revealing cutouts, mini length skirts, and crop tops galore surround our malls and stores nationwide.

But there is hope lovelies!! (this is starting to sound like a sermon) 😉

Two words that will change your shopping experience forever……

SKIRT EXTENDERS!

img_4102

I have talked about skirt extenders in the past before, and they truly are so versatile in not only just adding length to skirts and dresses, but for anything too tight and sheer!

PLUS, they add a feminine frill at the hem!

Summer calls for anything floral, and the “Katie ” dress from I Shop Simply is made out of  a breathable fabric that will cool you off this summer season! Plus it’s a steal at only $24.99! I can totally see the navy color transitioning well into the fall season simply by adding a trench coat/cardigan!

img_4076

I decided to add my Peek A Boo Chic skirt extender to add a shabby chic crochet hem at the bottom of the dress! So cute right?!

img_4100

img_4065

img_4077

img_4074

Just a heads up the fit on this dress runs small so order a size up! I am wearing a size Medium 😉 I love that it has short sleeves and the fact that is has slight stretch!

Modest, cute and comfy? Sign me up!

I love I Shop Simply because of the fact that they carry the trendy boutique items without the big boutique prices!

img_4075

img_4059

How gorgeous are these nude/cognac lace up heels from Just Fab?! They literally go with anything and are a summer essential shoe! Not to mention that they are SO easy to walk in!

Retro Daisy Circle Skirt Outfit Featuring Florence Adam Store!

Happy Tuesday Lovelies!!

Long time no blog post! To say I’ve missed you guys is an understatement! Seriously! We’ve survived mid-term week and are all geared up for The hunt on Easter Sunday!

Here are a couple of snapshots during these past couple of weeks! Enjoy!

Me: Excellent… lol

Nursery: My excuse to act like a 5 year old again with no questions asked! LOL

img_0923

Now onto today’s 60’s- 70’s ”ish” inspired outfit featuring one of my favorite circle skirts from Florence Adams Store!

img_1010

Today’s outfit was inspired by a little bit of 60s and 70s fashion!

The daisy print on my skirt resembles that of the 60s but the colors and the style of my blouse lean more toward the 70s! I actually scored this awesome brown vintage blouse from a local thrift store back at home in Utah!

img_0996img_0997

I added cognac colored accessories to finish off this look! Just a quick side note if you do not own a cognac colored belt I would highly suggest one as an addition to any wardrobe!

Its a staple and a classic for sure! It will literally class up any outfit and if you have cognac colored boots/ shoes that’s a bonus!!

For hair I wanted soft tousled curls that wold be away from my face. All I did was take my curling wand and tilted it down and away from my face just for a few seconds, release the curl and gently run your fingers through it! Super easy and it literally takes about 10 minutes!

img_1004

It was ferociously windy out today in Lancaster which made for a very chilly morning! (Not the best day to wear a circle skirt I must admit but I somehow managed to stay indoors for the most part of the day! lol)
